Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino

The Turin Philharmonic Orchestra was established in April 1992, after ten years performing under the name of the Turin Philharmonics, during which time important co-productions were realized with the RAI Symphonic Orchestra of Turin and the Company of San Paolo for the RAI Symphonic seasons from 1991 to 1994. Since 1993 the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra has performed its own concert series at the Auditorium of the Turin Conservatory, which since 2005, with the arrival of Nicola Campogrande as Artistic Director, has been designed so that each concert is a “special event” based on a specific theme.
Since 2003 the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra has enriched its cultural offer with a prestigious season of chamber concerts starring Italy’s most talented young musicians.
The Turin Philharmonic Orchestra has performed in Italy, France, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, and the Far East, and has worked with some of the world’s most illustrious conductors and soloists.
The many recordings of the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra are published by the Claves, Victor, RS and Stradivarius labels and are primarily symphonic works and a few operas.
In 1995, the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra was commended by the Piedmont Region for its work, and has since performed concerts in numerous cities in the region.
The Turin Philharmonic Orchestra is sponsored by Lavazza, the Province and City of Turin, the Ministry of Culture, the Company of San Paolo, the CRT Foundation, and Reale Mutua, as well as a large group of minor sponsors.
